Abraham Ward

Abraham â??Abeâ?? Ward, 68, of Pipestem went home to be with the Lord, April 16, 2009 at the Princeton Community Hospital following a long illness. Born May 30, 1940 at Hix he was a son of the late Friend and Rena Jones Ward. A lifelong resident of Summers Co. he worked as a timberman and farmer for most of his life. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed coon hunting, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Abe had just recently received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and he is now enjoying the joy and blessings of Heaven. Preceded in death by one son, Lincoln Ward Jr. in 1981; two sisters, Louvinna Walls and his infant sister Virgie Ward; two brothers, Robert Ward and Harry â??Pudâ?? Ward. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Thompson Ward, three sons, William Ward and wife Laverna of Hix and Richard and Randy Ward both of Pipestem; four grandchildren, Justin, Emily, Adam and Braden Ward; two brothers, Albert Ward of Hix and Ralph Ward of Elkton, MD and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ray â??Buckâ?? Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Noble Cemetery at Pipestem. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Saturday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
