Ada Mae Berry Ward, 84, of Chestnut Mt. entered into eternal rest Friday November 25, 2016 at Summers Nursing and Rehab following a long illness.
Born February 16, 1932 in Raleigh Co. she was the daughter of the late Sampson and Viola Ethel Plumley Berry. Mrs. Ward lived most of her life in Summers Co. and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Ward; three daughters, Mary Ethel Ayers, Juanita Faye Ward and Dorothy Marie Dick; one son, Jessie Ray Ward; two grandchildren, Billy Joe Dick and Rebecca Marie Dick; two sons in law, Cleo Dick and Arthur Ayers; five brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, three sons, James Ward and wife Lorene of Chestnut Mt., Freddie Gene Ward and companion Sandy Buck of Chestnut Mt. and Charles Melvin Ward and wife Kathy of Sandstone; one daughter, Joyce Bowles and husband Basil of Chestnut Mt.; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Jane Ward of Chestnut Mt. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday November 29, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Eddie Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Family Cemetery at Chestnut Mt. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Monday November 28, 2016 at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
