Addie Ratcliffe Maddy, 78, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at her home following a long illness.
Born August 15, 1935 at Jumping Branch she was the daughter of the late Issac Vernon and Bertha Pearl Fitzpatrick Ratcliffe. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, former cook for Summers Co. Board of Education, enjoyed going to Senior Citizens, traveling and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Thirl Maddy; companion, O.J. Plumley and three brothers, Leslie, Franklin and Alpha Ratcliffe.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Barbara Wood and husband Roger of Nimitz and Sharon Vandall and husband Chuck of Nimitz; five grandchildren, Alan, Michael, Kimberly, Jason and Jeremy; six great grandchildren, Blake, Bryson, Hailey, Braeden, Nevaeh and Rachael; one brother, Thomas Ratcliffe and wife Phyllis of Nimitz; one sister, Martha Martin and husband Buddy of Pipestem and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Tim Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Ratcliffe Cemetery at Cave Ridge. Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. Sunday until service time.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
