Alva L. Harvey 82, of Keatley Springs went home to be with the Lord Friday June 17, 2016 at Peyton Hospice House following a short illness.
Born October 24, 1933 at Hinton he was the son of the late Oris and Bessie Hogan Harvey. He was a member of the Mt. View Primitive Baptist Church, veteran of the United States Navy and he retired from Pipestem State Park with 23 years of service. Alva enjoyed gardening, raising cattle, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Donna M. Harvey in 1980.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary M. Allen Harvey of Keatley Springs; one son, Alan L. Harvey and wife Sue Ann of Princeton; one daughter, Thelma L. Wylie and husband Mark of Marlinton; four grandchildren, Tyler L. Wylie of Charleston, Clay Wylie of Morgantown, Ian Wylie of Morgantown and Travis Harvey of Princeton; one sister, Joyce Miller of Forest Hill; one half-brother, Eddie Harvey of Indian Mills and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday June 20, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Elder Tommy Pack and Pastor Harry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until time of services on Monday at the funeral parlors.
Grandsons and Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
