Anna June Meadows, 95, of Bellepoint went home to be with the Lord, Sunday June 14, 2020 at the Rocking Chair Residential Home following a long illness.
Born February 15, 1925 and raised in Hinton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Lindsey and Ocie Nabors Basham.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinton from childhood. June worked as a clerk at the Hinton Kroger, bookkeeper at A&P in Beckley and Hinton, helped run the Willowwood Golf Course Kitchen with her husband Curtis, was a clerk at Ames in Hinton and helped her daughter Susie at the House of Hair in Hinton.
June was preceded in death by her first husband, Norris Thompson, who passed away in 1953, and her second husband, Curtis Meadows, who passed away in 1994; five sisters, Dorothy Bryant, Lillian Jackson, Helen Angell, Patsy Roberts, and Evelyn Ailstock; and two brothers Robert and James Basham.
Those left to cherish her memory include her only daughter, Susie Gore and husband Jimmy; one granddaughter Andi Gore Hoover and husband Tim; one sister Betty Jean Girard and several nieces and nephews.
For the safety of the family and community, services will be private with Pastor Ronnie Cobb officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A special thank you to the staff of the Rocking Chair for their care provided.
