Arbanna Z.

Mrs. Arbanna Z. (Cales) Cox, 74, of Sandstone, Died 11:10 A.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in the Summersville Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born April 17, 1931 at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late Julian S. and Delphia Mae Bragg Cales. She had lived most of her life at Sandstone and was a member of the Sandstone Baptist Church. A florist and an avid gardener who also loved arts and crafts, and a Caregiver for her mother for many years and homemaker. Preceded in death by one daughter, Shelia Hewitt; a grandson, James Pious and seven brothers and sisters. Survived by four sons, James H. Cox and his wife Karen of Romeo, MI, Kevin Cox of S. Daytona, FL, Ernest Cox of Raleigh, NC and Larry Cox of Oak Hill; one daughter, Anita Scarbro and her husband Roger of Minden; a son-in-law whom she dearly loved, Roger Hewitt of Oak Hill; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three brothers, James E. Cales and Charles H. Cales both of Sandstone and Otis L. Cales and his wife Kathy of Smoot; two sisters, Martha Ewing of Social Circle, GA and Deloris Richmond of Brooks. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday January 27, 2006 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Chapel with Pastor Otis Cales officiating. Burial will follow in the Cales Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from noon till time of the service on Friday. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
