Arnold Shortridge

Arnold Perry Shortridge, 77, of Peterstown went peacefully home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton.

Born March 10, 1943 in Quinwood he was the son of the late Albert and Mary Pittensbarger Shortridge.

He retired from Handy Clean Products of Greensboro, NC where he was the assistant plant manager. He was of the Apostolic Holiness faith and evangelized for thirty years. He was a member of Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse in Grassy Meadows.  He loved God, his family, going to church, studying the Bible, praying, fishing and hunting.

Preceded in death by one sister, Tammy Shortridge Hinkle of Rupert; two nephews, Mikhail Boggess of Rupert and Dwayne Midkiff of Springdale.

Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gloria Lane Shortridge; three sons, Ronald Dale (Kimberly), Arnold Bryon (Louise) and Michael Ray (Rebecca); five grandchildren, Ashley (Matt), Ethan, Isaac, Abigail and Amberly; three great grandchildren, Laramie, Harper and Colten; one sister, Lois Jean (Robey) Midkiff; one aunt, Violetta Yoney and many cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse in Grassy Meadows with Pastor Butch LeGrand and Brother David Chrisman officiating. Entombment will follow in the Burchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA.  Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the church.

Pallbearers: Dale Shortridge, Bryon Shortridge, Michael Shortridge, Ethan Shortridge, Isaac Shortridge and Dennis Bragg.
