Barbara Janet Adkins

      Barbara Janet Adkins, 88, of Pipestem went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Main Street Care following a short illness.

      Born February 24, 1935 at True she was a daughter of the late Cyrus and Phyllis Neely Hogan.

      Barbara was a member of Pipestem Southern Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Maidenform and had also worked in reservations at Pipestem State Park.  Barbara enjoyed reading, sewing, diamond art, gardening and playing on her iPad.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Eagle C. Adkins.

      Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Teresa Pettrey and husband Samuel of Athens; one grandson, Robert C. Neely and wife Joni; one great granddaughter, Madison Grace Neely and one sister, Drema G. Edwards.

      Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor David Damewood officiating. Burial will follow in the Neely Cemetery at Surveyor Branch. Visitation will be from noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral parlors.   Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
