Ms. Barbara Louise Nichols Carr, 81, of Hickory, NC, passed away Friday, January 29th, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Born October 26, 1934 at Hinton, she was the daughter of late Silas C. and Nellie Erma Nichols.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Claris F. Nichols, and her sister, Virginia Nichols Clifford.
Barbara was a retired Summers County Clerk.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah S. Ward of Hickory, N.C.; three grandsons, Joseph and his wife Shantee of Sawmills, N.C., Joshua and his wife Jacqueline of 29 Palms, CA. and Matthew and his wife Geri of Hudson, N.C; and three great-grandchildren, Camden, Lauren, and Aaron Ward.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2016, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton, WV with Lawrence Bennett officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Gardens at Hinton.
