Benjamin R. â??Benâ?? Adkins, 79 of Hinton, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at his home following a long illness. Born June 11, 1929 at Hinton he was a son of the late Burman Greene and Emma Jane Bennett Adkins. Ben was a lifelong resident of Hinton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Patsy J. Gill, Madlean Adkins and Pansy Adkins; two brothers, Clyde Bennett and Buster Adkins. Survived by one brother, Curtis â??Jackieâ?? Adkins and his wife Evelyn of Hinton; two sisters, Glady Upton of Hinton and Mojean Fox of Tug Creek and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Matthew Cyrus, Basil Cyrus Jr., Shawn Trail, Alonzo Brown, Robbie Brown, Kevin Adkins, Ray Boone, Roy Adkins and Ron Adkins will serve as pallbearers.
Viewing Information: 6-9 PM Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel.
