Bernice Adkins

On March 23, 2009 Bernice Geneva Garten Adkins, 90 went home to Heaven. Born May 6, 1918 at Talcott, she was a daughter of the late Walter Larue and Mary Chenessie Bragg Garten. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by her husband Otey â??Oatâ?? Adkins on November 27, 1980 and one granddaughter, Lisa Lusk in 1964. She was the beloved mother of three children; Son, Dewey Adkins at home, two daughters, Delma and husband William Fleshman and Jaunita and husband Freeman Lusk all of Talcott; Seven grandchildren, Coleen Sawyer and husband Russ of Brunswick, OH, Debby Fasciana and husband Angelo of Avon, OH, Pastor Rex Lusk and wife Carol of Everett, PA, Stanley Fleshman of Mentor, OH, Dale Fleshman and wife Kathy of Cleveland, OH, Kendra Lusk Ratliff and husband Jackie of Talcott and Joyce Ward and husband Jimmy of White Sulphur Springs; thirteen great grandchildren, Rustin Sawyer and wife Kelly, Justin and Hannah Sawyer, Austin and Patrick Fasciana, Ben, Caleb and Isabella Lusk, Josiah, Janae and Jobeth Fleshman, Jackie Lee and Kristen Brooke Ratliff; two great-great grandchildren, Hope and Daniel Sawyer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dana Stalnaker, Pastor Rex Lusk and Dale Fleshman officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday. Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
