Bertie Lou Adkins, 60, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Monday, March
13, 2017 at the home of her son in Mt. Sidney, VA following a long illness.
Born October 2, 1956 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late Gladys Mae Adkins Upton. Bertie was a CNA and caregiver as long as her health permitted. She was of the
Baptist faith and enjoying shopping, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Adkins; siblings; James Adkins, Ricky Adkins, David Gill, Shirley Charles and Jerry Fox and daughter in law, Dana Bragg.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Michael Adkins of VA, Jessie Bragg and fiancé Jenny Yancey of Hinton, Paul Bragg of Hinton, Charles Adkins of VA, Brandi Adkins of Huntington, Crystal Adkins of Vero Beach, FL and Susan May of Forest Hill; seventeen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and siblings, Diana Cyrus, Dreama Adkins, Violet Trail, Judy Withrow, Brenda Moats, Bobby Jean Cash, Sonya Upton, Sara Crawford, Delsie Brown, Penny Boone, Timmy Adkins, Dougie Adkins and Roy Adkins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith-Cyrus Cemetery at Tug Creek. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
