Bessie Davis Farmer, 100, of Madam?s Creek, Hinton, went on to be with the Lord at 9:35 P.M. Friday, April 22, 2005 at the Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hinton, following a short illness. Born October 22, 1904 on Madam?s Creek, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Lilly Smith Davis and was a lifelong resident of Summers Co. Mrs. Farmer was of the Baptist Faith, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Farmer and several brothers and sisters. She was the last member of her immediate family. Survived by one son, James ?Jimmy? Farmer and wife Joyce of Nimitz, one daughter, Helen Farmer of Hinton, two grandsons, Randy Farmer and wife Mary of Princeton and Gary Farmer and wife Datsie of Madam?s Creek, Hinton, one granddaughter, Kaylee Renee Farmer of Jumping Branch, one great grandson, Jamie Farmer and Wife Dee of Princeton and one great-great grandson, David William Farmer of Princeton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Melvin Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery on Madam?s Creek. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-9 P.M. Sunday.
