Betty Jane Bostic, 90, of Ballengee, died Thursday March 19, 2015 at home.
Born April 5, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Roy and Myrtle Akers Ballengee. She was a long-time faithful member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school to the children and enjoyed singing in the choir. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ballengee Farm Club, Betty enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning but she took great joy in her family and in helping make jams, jellies and apple butter for the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death two sisters, Kathleen Green and Virginia Meadows and three brothers, Jack, James and Frank Ballengee.
Surviving are her husband of 73 years, Richard Bostic of Ballengee; two sons, Richard Bostic Jr. and wife Mary and Patrick Bostic and wife Biddy; three grandsons, John, Bobby and Jason Bostic; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Rachael, Sam, Cadence, Kaitlyn Bostic and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday March 22, 2015 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Sam Groves and Linda Payton officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until service time on Sunday at the funeral parlors.
Bob, Sam, Jason and John Bostic will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to thank Pete Tabor, Amber and Charlie Nelson, other friends and family, Dr. Chhabra and staff, CAMC staff and WV Hospice in assisting with her care.
