Betty Bowling

Betty Jo Hilton Bowling, 79, of Nimitz, went home to be with her Lord, April 18, 2009 at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.Born December 31, 1929 in Cleveland, OH she was the only daughter of the late Arthur Earl Hilton and Nellie Mae Pack Hilton White and step-father Patrick Henry White.She was a member of the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church where she assisted with Vacation Bible School for 50 years. A homemaker who also had worked at Bowlingâ??s Corner Store and the G.C. Murphy Co.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Sherrow Jane and Anna Marie Bowling.Left to cherish precious memories are her devoted husband of 60 years, James Eugene Bowling; three sons, J.P. Bowling and his wife Stephanie of Jumping Branch, David Bowling and his wife Debbie of Nimitz and John Bowling and his wife Joy of Jumping Branch; six grandchildren, Brian Bowling of Beckley, Craig Bowling and his wife Stephanie of Daniels, Crissy Bowling of Bluefield, Anthony Bowling and his wife Crystal of Jumping Branch, Zachary and Zoey Bowling of Jumping Branch; and one great grandchild, Caynan Bowling.Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Donald L.Hannah and Bill Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church on Monday.Brian, Craig, Anthony and Zachary Bowling, Charles Moten, Ashby Maddy, Gerald Warden, Steve Pack and Haven Miller will serve as pallbearers. Charlie Moten, Richard Vaughn, Arlie Ellison and Mark Ellison will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church.
