Betty Lou Fox, 65, of Jumping Branch reunited in heaven with her husband and family Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 26, 1948 in McDowell County she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Mary Etta Cook Meador. Betty was a homemaker and a private caretaker for the elderly. She previously had attended the Hinton Gospel Tabernacle. Betty enjoyed participating in activities at the Jumping Branch and Hinton Senior Centers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who liked the outdoors, having picnics and caring for her family and others.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Fox; one sister, Garnet Cox and two brothers, Ernest and Fred Meador.
Those left to cherish her memory include, one son, Bobby Fox and wife Sarah of Jumping Branch; one daughter, Connie Gill and husband Billy Dan of Hinton; four grandchildren, Tasha Cox of Jumping Branch, Allison Fox Holland and husband Corey of Pipestem, Micahi and Noah Houchins of Hinton; three great grandchildren, Cayden and Braxton Cox and Colton Holland; three brothers, Donald Meador and wife Patty of Hinton, William Meador and wife Orlene of Lebanon, OH and Bobby Meador of Hinton; one sister, Millie Woolridge and husband Robert of Waynesville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Terry Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow in the Barger Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until time of services Sunday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Michael Taylor, Charlie Cox, Randy and Greg Bridges and Brian Graham.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
