Betty Lou Boyd Halloran, 78, of Talcott died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation following a long illness.
Born June 8, 1932 at Talcott, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Lena Belle Wyant Boyd. Betty was a lifelong resident of Talcott and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was active in the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday School and led the Youth programs. Betty was active for many years in Summers County 4-H and she was the Charter President of the Hinton Jayceettes. She Graduated Talcott High School and she was co-owner and operator of Halloran's Dairy in Talcott with her husband Edward "Chubby" Halloran.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, William Boyd and one sister, Jean Chattin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years, Edward C. "Chubby" Halloran of Talcott; one daughter, Jo Ellen Richmond and husband Norman of Lowell; two sons, Eddie Halloran of Talcott and Pastor Tim Halloran and wife Reva of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Susan Belue and husband Jason of Durham, NC, Hope Jones and husband Brent of Hinton, Joseph Richmond of Lowell, Daniel Halloran and wife Karen of Charleston, SC, Mandi Lowry and husband Loyd of Hilldale, Hannah Halloran and Cameron Halloran both of Morgantown; ten great grandchildren, Kristen and Alex Belue, Alison, Audra, and Andrew Jones, Ashley Richmond, Olivia and Lily Halloran and Mathew and Lucas Lowry; two brothers, Richard Boyd and wife Crickett of SC and Brian Boyd and wife Joann of New Haven, CT and one sister, Garnet Roberts of Greenville, NC.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church at Talcott with Pastors Sam Haught and Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park at Hinton. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and one hour prior to service time on Sunday at the Church.
Lynn Long, Ellery Wykle, Fred Thompson, Buddy Ball, Stan Eller and Norman Cole will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations of remembrance may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
