Betty J. Maddy Keaton, 90, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Saturday August 4, 2018 at Main Street Care following a short illness.
Born July 19, 1928 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella Lester Maddy. A graduate of the Hinton High School class of 1946 and a graduate of Martz Beauty School in 1947, she worked for over 55 years in Hinton and Columbus, OH as a hairstylist. In 1947, Betty married the love of her life Harry H. Keaton and they spent 49 wonderful years together until his passing in 1994. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was able to attend services this past Sunday to witness the Baptism of her daughter-in-law Regina D. Keaton.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harry H. Keaton and two brothers, Benny L. Maddy and Bobby J. Maddy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Harry L. Keaton and wife Regina of Hinton; two grandchildren, Justin M. Keaton of Foster, WV and Kristen Keaton Hodge and husband Roger of Savannah, GA; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Emma Hodge of Savannah, GA; one nephew, Rob Maddy of Mebane, NC; special niece, Lisa Maddy of Houston, TX; brother in law, Pat Keaton of Hinton; sister in law, Mary Lambert of Flint, MI; special friend and honorary family member, Cleo Mathews and several cousins also survive.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held 5:00 pm Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Central Baptist Church. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm until time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy can be made to Hospice of Southern WV at 454 Canterbury Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
