Billy Junior Martin, 78, of Hinton went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 16, 2010 following a long illness.
Born March 20, 1932 at Forest Hill he was a son of the late Amos and Vina Mae Adkins Martin. He retired from the Sanitation Dept, City of Hinton after 25 years of service and Billy was of the Christian faith.
Preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Martin, Ruby Steers and Daisy Tate.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 15 years, Goldie Sears Martin; five step children, Brenda ?Kay? Adkins and husband Ronnie, Shirley Ward, Ray Boone and wife Penny, Jimmy Gill and wife Cindy, Junior Boone and wife Angie; twelve step grandchildren, Debbie Davis, Steven Boone, Heather Stevenson, Charles Randy Boone, Gregory Boone, Melissa Thompson, Brian Ward, Keith Gill, Suzie Barker, Kenny Barker, B.J. Barker and Jackie Daniel; four step great grandchildren, Logan Davis, Briella Thompson, Julie Boone and Makaylah Gill; five sisters, Marie Trout, Delphie Meadows, Dellia Ayers, Effie Martin and Margaret Martin; two brothers, Everette Martin and Jessie Martin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Ron Iddings and Patricia Cales officiating. Burial will follow in the Sears Family Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Steven Boone, Gregory Boone, Jackie Daniel, Keith Gill, Brian Ward and Jason Davis will serve as pallbearers. Kenny and B.J. Barker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
