Bobby Lucas

Bobby Gene Lucas, 49 of Hinton, died Saturday morning December 25, 2004 after a long illness. He was born at Ravencliff, W.V. on June 20, 1955 and was the son of the late Elsworth R. Lucas and Mary C. Surber Lucas of Hinton.He is a former Navy Veteran of the Vietnam WarPreceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Giles Straiter Lucas and Anna Blanche Meador Lucas and his maternal grandparents, Charles J. Surber and Emma ?Champie? Bragg Surber. Survived by two sons, Bobby G. Lucas Jr. and Jessie Lucas, and two grandchildren all of Cleveland, OH, one step-daughter, Katrina Buckland and husband Earl Jr. of Hilldale, three brothers; Charles Lucas and wife Becky of Hinton; Jimmy Richards of Whitsett, NC and Oliver ?Jr.? Richards and wife Rosemary of Covington, VA, three sisters; Janet Crawford and husband Randy of Cool Ridge, WV, Jeanie Snow and husband Joey of Wayside, WV, and Opal Lucas Hurley of Liberty, NC, two uncles; Francis Surber and wife Wilma of Harrisonburg, VA and Lloyd ?Gene? Lucas and wife Mary of Cleveland, OH, two aunts; Mary Farley and husband Frank of Massilon, OH and Nancy Westfall of Tucson, AZ several nieces and nephews and long time friend and Navy buddy Ernie Farley of Cleveland, OH and longtime friends Tammy Sears and Dave Meador of Hinton.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Carl Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucas Cemetery at True. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time Thursday.Pallbearers are nephews, Charles Lucas, Jr., Charles ?Ray? Farley II, and Stephen Lucas and friends Rusty Bennett, David Sears, and Dennis Neely.
