Brenda C. Garten, 68, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 21, 2018 at her home in Talcott, following a courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side, including her faithful loving cat "Baby Boy".
Born March 20, 1950 in Talcott she was a daughter of the late Paul and Norma Sears Garten.
Brenda was a member of the Bellepoint Baptist Church and a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her trust in the Lord and unwavering faith was an inspiration to all.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Garten Boone and a brother, Franklin "Chubby" Garten.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters; Janie Briers of Talcott and Paula Miller and husband Melvin of Ballard; one brother, Bernard Garten and wife Shirley of Alderson and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for as if they were her own children.
Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Restwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery from 10:45 A.M. until time of services Tuesday. There will be no visitation. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Summers County Loving Hearts Team at 1072 Clayton Judson Road Alderson, WV 24910.
