Catherine Adkins

Catherine Adkins, 86, of Hilldale went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home following a long illness.

Born June 6, 1935 at Talcott she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” Thomas and Eileen Bragg Thomas.

Catherine was a homemaker.  She was a lifelong resident of Summers County. Catherine enjoyed listening to the radio, watching television and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Willard Adkins; one son, Clarence Adkins Jr.; two daughters, Sandra Kay “Sissy” Adkins and Flora Mae Adkins and ten siblings, William “Buddy” Thomas, Sammy Thomas, Bobby Jack Thomas, John “Jitterbug” Thomas, Jim Thomas, Roger Thomas, Helen Thomas, Mary Landis, Shirley Bowling and Betty Thomas.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Cathy Adkins of Hilldale; five grandchildren, Melissa Adkins and companion Robbie Mitchem, Priscilla Proud, Tiffany Sykes, Benny Adkins and companion Laura Adkins and Will Cales; one brother, Eddie Thomas and wife Sarah of Hilldale and her special friend and caregiver, Donna Davis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Visitation will be from noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral parlors. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
