Cecile Irene Smith Angell, 98, of Madams Creek, Hinton, WV, died January 28, 2009 in the Summers Nursing and Rehab Center at Hilldale following a long illness. Born September 17, 1910, at Retro, TN, she was the daughter of the late James Dolphin and Nancy Elmira Shipley Smith. She was a cook at the Old Hinton Hospital for many years and attended church services at Summers Co. ARH Third Floor, as well as Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. During her life, she was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed quilting, gardening, raising beautiful flowers, reading and especially cooking for her family and friends. Preceded in death by her first husband, H. Burley Boland Sr.; second husband, Robert Dewey Angell Sr.; one granddaughter, Donna Sue Richmond Harrah; one great grandson, Jamie Yancey Harrah; seven brothers and two sisters; one son-in-law, Stewart â??Juniorâ?? Richmond and one daughter-in-law, Jean Boland. She is survived by one daughter, Eva â??Cricketâ?? Richmond of Columbus, OH; two sons, Herbert â??Sonnyâ?? Boland Jr. of San Pablo, CA and Robert D. Angell and wife, Janey of Jumping Branch; one sister, Lucy Canterbury of Marie; nine grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Sonny Angell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. Friday. Pallbearers will be Mark Meador and Nephews; Damon and Kevin Lilly, David and Thom Johnson and Wayne Angell. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to The Gideonâ??s International or the Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Centerâ??s activities department.
