Charles Dawson

Charles William Dawson, 61, of Hilldale, died at 6:24 A.M. Thursday, March 01, 2007 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 3, 1945 at Hilldale, he was the son of the late William Howard and Mary Elizabeth Boone Dawson. He was a former employee of the LEAR Corporation of Covington, VA and a member of the River Valley Baptist Church. Preceded in death by two grandsons; James Eli Gill and Brian Shane Yancey. Survived by his wife of 37 years Mary C. Dawson, two daughters; Tammy Bennett of Rupert and Cindy Williams of Beckley and six grandchildren; James Michael Yancey of Rupert and Alisha Renee Yancey of Beckley, Elizabeth Marie, Thomas Alexander, Jennifer Lynn and Debra Ann Gill all of Rupert. At his request, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
