Charles Forrest

Charles William Forrest, 78, of Hinton formerly of Columbia, KY went home to be with the Lord January 31, 2014 at his home following a long illness. Charles accepted the Lord as his Savior on November 29, 1979.
Born August 3, 1935 at Willow Shade, KY he was the son of the late Edgar W. and Lora T. Martin Forrest. A self employed carpenter until his retirement, veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany as a cook. He was a loving father, grandfather, companion and brother who enjoyed reading his bible.
Preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Livengood.
Survived by his companion of 8 years, Rheeda Foose of Hinton; four children, Charles S. Forrest of Milton, FL, Rebecca Jane Ballard and husband Nick of Kansas City, KS, Diane Rachel Forrest of Tallahassee, FL and Connie S. Crews of Hinton; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six brothers and sisters, Dennis Forrest and wife Cora of Crawfordsville, IN, Rosemary Snively of Crawfordsville, IN, Eddie Forrest of Plainfield, IN, Calvin Forrest of Crawfordsville, IN, Danny Forrest and wife Phyllis of IL and Terry Forrest and wife Lana of Jacksonville, FL.
The family would like to thank the community of Hinton and Hospice of Southern WV for their care and kindness shown to Charles during his illness. At his request he has been cremated and a memorial service will be conducted in KY at a later date.
