Charles Gill

Charles Richard Gill Sr., 58, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 11, 2009 at Charleston Area Medical Center- Memorial Division following a long illness.
Born September 29, 1951 in Raleigh County he was a son of the late Russell L. and Oma Ward Gill. Charles was employed as a driller for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #132, avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. He never met a stranger and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by two daughters, Annie Marie Gill and Pamela Sue Gill.
Survived by his companion of 16 years, Anna M. Bennett of Hinton; six children, Rebecca Sears and husband Ronald of Powley?s Creek, Charles Richard Gill Jr. of Shady Spring, Shanna Chapman and husband Ricky of Flat Top, Matthew L. Gill and wife Tracie of Flat Top, Christopher L. Gill of Shady Spring and Nikki A. Gill of Hinton; first wife, Judy Ann Gill; second wife, Diana Lynn Gill; three sisters, Marie Meadows and husband Frank of Madams Creek, Maydean Hill and husband Bobby of Bellepoint and Margie Weikle of Union; three brothers, Roger L. Gill and wife Rosemary of Madams Creek, Billy Joe Gill and wife Vickie of Madams Creek and James R. Gill and wife Barbara of Madams Creek; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous friends whom he felt they were his own family and who called him ?Pops? and Grandpa.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Lawrence Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Gill Family Cemetery on Davis Road, Madams Creek. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
