Charles Howard Pitzer, 67, of Tug Creek passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born May 14, 1951 at Summers County he was a son of the late Thomas Pitzer and Willowvee Sears Pitzer Cyrus.
Charles was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a foreman for Asplundh. Charles enjoyed gardening, his animals and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Pitzer and one brother, James "Sambo" Pitzer.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Charles Pitzer Jr. and wife Lisa of Hinton; one daughter, Stacey Pitzer of Tug Creek; one grandson whom he reared, Tyler Pitzer of Tug Creek; ten grandchildren, Kelli, Derek, Joshua, Lindsey, Kaleigh, Gabriella, Abigail, Brooke and two expected grandchildren; one brother, Basil Cyrus and wife Diana of Hinton; two sisters, Vivian Cyrus of Bluefield and Mary Vanwinkle and husband Jim of CA; a special aunt, Vivian Ashley and husband Jack of Hinton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Melvin and Eddie Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the Bragg Cemetery at Tug Creek. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
