Charles Dempsey Steers, 74, of Keatley Springs, died at 7:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hinton, following a long illness. Born August 29, 1932 at Hinton, he was the son of the late William and Rosie Lea Gill Steers. Charles had lived most of his life at Hinton, he was a member of the Little Country Holiness Church in Hinton and was a former employee of the Keystone Fireworks in Maryland. Preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Virginia Steers. Survived by two brothers; James Steers and William Steers and wife Linda and two sisters; Nancy Martin and husband Everett, Christina Adkins and husband Henry all of Keatley Springs, one niece; Rosie Coubertson and one nephew; Tommy Steers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Steers Family Cemetery at Keatley Springs. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
