Christina Steers "Nean" Adkins, 72, of Hilltop went to be with the Lord August 12, 2011 following a long illness at the University of Virginia Hospital at Charlottesville, VA.
Born September 1, 1938 she was the daughter of the late William F. Steers and Rosie Lee Gill Steers of Hinton.
During her life she was a homemaker and a member of Avis Holliness Church.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, John Lee Steers and Charles D. Steers.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Henry E. Adkins; daughter, Rosie Culbertson and husband David; two grandchildren, Ariel and David Culbertson; nephew, Tommy Steers; two brothers, James T. Steers and William L. Steers and wife Linda; sister, Nancy Martin and husband Everett and one great niece.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Rev. Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery at Hilltop. Friends may call from 6-8:00PM Sunday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
