Christine Buckland

Christine J. Cottle Buckland, 83, of Talcott, went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 29, 2010 at her home following a sudden illness.
Born May 30, 1927 in Summers Co. she was the daughter of the late George Cleon and Amy Elizabeth Keffer Ramsey Cottle. Christine was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church at Talcott, the United Methodist Women, Talcott Ruritan Club, retired employee of Summers County Board of Education where she worked at Talcott Elementary School, she enjoyed helping others and was very active in her community and church, loved baking, cooking and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her husband, David O. Buckland; two sons, Clifford D. Buckland and Ferlin ?Sarge? Buckland; one brother, John E. Cottle and one sister, Jackie Disney.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Carol Wood and husband Ron of Grandview and Patricia Buckland of Forest Hill; one son, Roger M. Buckland of Talcott; five grandchildren, Melanie Currens, Shayla Tanksley, Kristy Buckland, Autumn Buckland and Justin Buckland; two great grandchildren, Lane Tanksley and Anna Grace Bennett; one sister, Leona Meadows of Willoton and one brother, George Cottle and wife Sandra of Oakvale; one sister-in-law, June Cottle of Willoton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Noon, Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. Burial will follow in the Roles Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery at Forest Hill. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Gene Buckland, Jeff Buckland, Jim Bowling, DeWayne Ellis, Paul Wood and Steve McCoy will serve as pallbearers.
