Clara Geraldine ?Jerry? Lilly, 87, passed away, Thursday June 7, 2012 at the Oakmont Nursing Home in Flatwoods, KY following a long illness. Born December 18, 1924 at Hinton she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Clara Richmond Lilly.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a graduate of Hinton High School class of 1943. Jerry worked as a clerk for C&O Railway for 42 years, living in Hinton for 82 years. She moved to Ohio five years ago, living with Randy and Gena Lilly. Jerry was an outstanding athlete excelling in golf and bowling, competing in tournaments across the country. Jerry loved the outdoors, family and friends who visited her at the camp. She loved Hinton and the great state of West Virginia. Jerry enjoyed life and loved everyone.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph and Raymond Lilly; one sister-in-law, Leda Lilly and two nephews, Roger and Reggie Lilly.
Survived by one sister-in-law, Thelma Gulley Lilly of Ironton, OH; three nephews, Randy Lilly and wife Gena of Ironton, OH, David Lilly and wife Jackie of Lynchburg, VA and Ivan Lilly and wife Salina of Troutville, VA; one niece, Becky Hodgson and husband John of Ironton, OH; a special great niece, Tammy Bollinger of Ironton, OH and a special friend, Laura Torrico of Trenton, MI, formerly of Beckley, WV.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
