Clarice Irene Cox 77, of Fayetteville, NC formerly of Hinton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 8, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. in Greenville, NC following a long illness.
Born September 20, 1932 at Ellison, she was a daughter of the late Clacy D. and Una Basham of Ellison Ridge. Mrs. Cox was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray Dean Cox on December 27, 1998; two sons, David Eugene Cox and Larry R. Cox and three daughters, Kari Gamber, Wanda Lilly and Linda Fritto.
Survived by five sons, Dempsey Cox and wife Asa of Painsville, OH, Michael and Randy Cox of Fayetteville, NC, Bobby Cox and wife Sue Pat of Fayetteville, NC and Danny Cox of TN; four daughters, Rebecca Grimmett and husband Roger of Hilldale, Wilma Grimmett and husband Lester of Rocky Mt., NC, Kathy Cox of Ohio and Janice Barksdale and husband Dennis of South Carolina; twenty-one grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and one brother, Dean Basham and wife Von of Massilon, OH.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Sonny Angell officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
