Clayton Williams, 83, of Beckley went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday April 17, 2013 at the Bower?s Hospice House following a long illness.
Born May 6, 1929 in Pike Co. KY he was a son of the late James Arthur and Armenda Williamson Williams.
He retired from New River Coal Co. after 40 years of service and had attended the Bradley Church of God. Clayton enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death include his wife, Geneva ?Louise? Reed Williams; one son, David Blaine Williams; three brothers, Curtis, Taylor and Warren Williams; three sisters, Earsie Howard, Alma Potter and Ruby Thorne.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Melvin Williams and wife Linda of Beckley; one daughter, Barbara French and husband David of Daniels; three grandchildren, Shaun Williams of Cool Ridge, Joshua Williams and wife Jessie of Daniels and Stephanie Woodrum of Columbia, SC; one great grandchild, Makayla Williams of Daniels; two brothers, Bud Williams and wife Frances of KY and Cullen Williams and wife Maxine of Beckley; three sisters, Amy Leedy of KY, Bertha Potter and husband William of KY and Laurie Pickett of VA.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ernest Calfee Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow the services. Friends may gather at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum from 11:00 AM until time of services on Friday.
