Clifford Bennett, 81, of Shady Spring, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley, following an apparent heart attack.
Born January 12, 1928, at Raleigh Co., he was the son of the late Clark and Ida Mae Smith Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a timberman and heavy equipment operator and was a former employee of the WVDOH at Hinton.
He was a protestant, he enjoyed working of his family farm, drawing and spending time with family and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ethel Mae Wills Bennett, three brothers; Baby Bennett, Jacob Bennett and Leonard Bennett and one sister, Versie Bennett.
Survived by; two brothers, Paul Bennett and wife Ethelene of Beaver and Richard Bennett of Shady Spring, one sister, Ruby Bennett and husband John of Crow. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a very dedicated nephew and niece, Paul Wayne Bennett and wife Darlene and Emily Simmerman and husband Steve all of Beaver.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dennis Burks officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Family Cemetery on Bennett Mt. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 12:00 Noon until funeral time on Saturday.
Pallbearers: Paul Wayne, Larry, Shawn, Frankie, Lee and Adam Bennett.
Honorary Pallbearers: Richard Clarkson and Glen Kincaid
