Connie Jean Ward Cox

    Connie Jean Ward Cox, 73, of Ellison went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 3, 2023 following a sudden illness.

     Born May 19, 1950 at Tug Creek she was a daughter of the late Clarence Leslie and Macil Georgia Adkins Ward.

     Connie was a member of the Dunns Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who cared for her family all her life.  Connie enjoyed flowers, bluegrass music, gardening, fishing, bowling, go carting, dancing and spending time with her family.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clinton Cox; one daughter, Melissa Robin Cox, four brothers, Harold Ray, Eugene, Harding and Curly Ward and four sisters, Mary Sue Frazier, Dreama Cox, Diane Lilly and Judy Copen.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her five children, Ronda Sue Weikle and husband Stephen, Tammy Rena Miller and husband William, Regina Bennett, Rebecca Lynn McBride and husband Mitchell and Joey Cox and wife Jessie; ten grandchildren, Jamie, Travis, Tory, M.J., Samantha, Chase, Jacob, Kayla, Tyler and Jaxxon; eight great grandchildren, Jaida, Travis James, Maci Rose, Brenner, August, Alaina, Cohen and Penelope; one sister, Phyllis Gilliam; two brothers, Harry Ward and Douglas Ward and numerous special friends and extended family whom she loved dearly.

     Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Philip Farrington officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Bolen conducting graveside committal. Friends may call from noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral parlors.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
