Corporal Jack Henry Meredith, 65, of Hinton, formerly of California, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.
Born September 11, 1946, at Indiana, he was a son of the late Edward Frances and Sarah Marie Riley Meredith.
Jack was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran having served in Vietnam where he obtained the rank of Corporal. He was of the Shaman faith and enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He was a retired Chief Engineer for Kaiser Permanente and is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Preceded in death by his previous wife, Jessie Gomez Meredith; two sons, Thomas Gomez Hernandez and Ronald Gomez Hernandez; one brother and one sister.
Survived by his wife, Sharon V. Meredith of Hinton; eight children, Gregory Gomez Hernandez, Jacob Gomez Hernandez, Ronnie Meredith, Donnie Meredith, Crystal Gomez Meredith, Scott Kincaid, Johnny Kincaid and Crystal Clark; thirty four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
At his request there will be no local arrangements, although he will be honored by the United States Military with burial at sea.
