Cory Thomas Carr, 24, of Hilldale went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 1, 2014 following injuries from an automobile accident.
Born April 13, 1989 at Lewisburg he was a son of the late Darrell "Lee" Carr and Lori Carr of Maurertown, VA.
Cory was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church and a 2007 graduate of Summers County High School. He was an employee of Volvo Truck Inc. Cory enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and family.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Peggy L. Carr.
Besides his mother those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Arlisha Carr and three children, Michael Carr, Mathew Carr and Makailey Carr all at home; one brother, Andrew Carr of Hilldale; one sister, Shelley Carr of Hilldale; paternal grandfather, Darrell M. Carr of Hilldale; maternal grandparents, Thomas E. Foley of Pipestem and Violet Kesner of Middletown, VA; three aunts, Lisa McBride and husband Timmy, JoAnn McGraw and partner Angie and Amy Madigan and husband Dwayne. Numerous cousins and friends also survive.
A celebration of life will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor George "Pete" Cook officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral parlors.
Following the services Cory's wish to be cremated will be honored.
