Daniel Martin

November 29, 1931 — December 12, 2013

Daniel David Martin Sr., 82, of Brimfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, December 12, 2013 after a long illness.

Born November 29, 1931 in Pipestem, WV he was the son of the late Docia Martin and Giles Summers Martin. He was the seventh son of a seventh son and when he was just a boy he would go to neighboring homes and treat children for thrush and other medical problems.

Daniel went to work at the age of 16 helping with the construction of the Bluestone Dam in Hinton where he met his wife, Linda Lou Vest in Nimitz. The love for his wife and children brought the ?family man? to the fore front of Daniel?s life. Dan also served in the United States Air Force for 10 years during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Vest Martin; three brothers, Ray, Curtis and Eugene Martin; twin sisters, Ema and Ima Jean.

Those left to cherish his memory include his four children, Patricia Martin of Kent, OH, Sharon Martin Ringer and husband Andy of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Carl Martin of Hinton and Daniel David Martin Jr. of Kent, OH; five grandchildren, P. Andrew Biscardi, Jonathan M. Biscardi, Ryan D. Carroll, Hayley L. Martin and Daniel David Martin III; two great grandchildren, Paul Andrew Martin Biscardi and Emelia Olivia Lou Biscardi.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Elder Tommy Pack officiating. Burial will follow in the Vest Family Cemetery at Streeter. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
