Danny Paul "D.P." Adkins, 53, of Pipestem went home to be with the Lord Saturday July 9, 2016 at CAMC General Division following a long illness surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 21, 1962 at Hinton he was the son of Daniel Paul Adkins of True and the late Agnes Anita Palmer Adkins. Danny attended Cooks Chapel Baptist Church, he was the former Head Chef at Pipestem State Park and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia and Kathryn Adkins and one brother, Daniel Adkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Leslie Adkins of Hinton and Danni Jo "D.J." Adkins and companion Mike Grimmett of Woodrumtown; one son, Cole Williams and companion Melinda Williams of Princeton; three grandchildren, Dakota Adkins, Evan Meador and Lindsey Adkins all of Hinton; four sisters, Dora Faris and husband James of True, Mary Huffman and husband Bryan of Wayside, Melissa Ward and husband Daniel of Ramp and Ruth Hartwell and husband Doug of True and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday July 13, 2016 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dallas Peyton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Wynn Cemetery at True. Friends may call from noon until service time on Wednesday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
