Danny Lee Bennett, 64 of Madams Creek near Hinton died Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Born February 26, 1950 at Rupert he was the son of the late Leonard and Thelma Vest Bennett.
Danny was a 1969 graduate of Shady Spring High School, retired in 2003 after 40 years of service with Pennington Plumbing. He attended Little Wolf Creek Baptist Church for the past several years. He assumed the role of head of the family after his parents' death. It was a position that he carried admirably. Danny's life was a living testimony of love for his family and his roots.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Joe and Betty Overbay.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Martha Overbay Bennett; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Roy Caldwell. He leaves behind two brothers, Billy Bennett and wife Dalene and Frankie Bennett and wife Vickie; three sisters, Shirley Wills and husband Melvin, Brenda Ward and husband Luke and Mary Miller as well a host of extended family and his beloved dog Gracie.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday May 10, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Eddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Vest Cemetery at Madams Creek. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until service time on Saturday.
Nick Bennett, Scott Bennett, Samuel Miller, Michael Wills, Josh Bowling and Joseph Bowling will serve as pallbearers.
