Danny Ray Mansfield, 55, of Nimitz, died at 4:00 A. M., Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Waynesboro, VA. Following a long illness. Born December 13, 1949 in Summers Co., he was a son of the late Lindsay and Betty Butler Mansfield Harvey and was a lifelong resident of Nimitz. He was a disabled coal miner, a member of UMWA, a member of the Grace Baptist Church and he had served as Chief and Assistant Chief of the Nimitz-Jumping Branch Vol. Fire Dept. Member of the NRA and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Preceded in death by two brothers Teddy James Mansfield and infant brother. Survived by his wife of 35 years Ola R. Cooper Mansfield, three brothers; Jackie Harvey of Nimitz, Phillip Green Harvey and wife Jackie of Rocky Mt. NC, and Tommy Harvey of Forest Hill, three sisters; Judy Blevins and husband Ritchie of Huntington, WV, Beverly Harvey of Nimitz and Sommer Carter and husband Jeff of Grandview. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Bill Ballengee and Junior Moye officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 6-9 P.M. Saturday. Pallbearers: Tommy E. Lilly, Paul Waddell, Roger Crook, Phillip Maddy, Jeff Stump, and Jack Cheek. Honorary Pallbearers, Jim Miller, Dr. Stan Day, Ivan Paynter, Kenneth Shrewsbury, Ralph Campbell and Allen Profitt.
Viewing Information: 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Saturday March 5, 2005 at the funeral parlor
Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 6, 2005 at the funeral parlor.
