Darrell R. "Doc" Fox, 67, of Ballengee went home to be with the Lord, Sunday May 18, 2014 at CAMC General Division following a long illness.
Born March 9, 1947 in Summers County he was a son of the late Manuel R. and Laura Belle Atwell Fox.
Darrell was a retired coal miner for Pritchard Mining and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed hunting, watching sports, especially NASCAR and spending time with his grandson, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, David, Howard, Donald and Roger Fox and one sister, Francis Dillon.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years Barbara Fox at home; two daughters, Patricia Fox Standard and husband Patrick of Oak Hill and Tabitha Fox-Bremer and husband Brian of Proctorville, OH; one grandson, Hunter Reece Standard of Oak Hill; seven brothers, Ashby Fox and wife Betty, Bob Fox, Gerald Fox and wife Linda, Cecil Fox and wife Joyce, William Fox and wife Elaine, Danny Fox and wife Jean and Steve Fox and two sisters, Louise Meadows and Margaret Furrow.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Roger Brammer officiating. Burial will follow in the Barger Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until time of services at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Standard, Brian Bremer, Dennis Fox, Bobby Dean Fox, Randy Fox and Jon Fox.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
