David Paul Burkhammer, 48, of Ladysmith, VA, formerly of Streeter, WV died Saturday February 26, 2011 at his home following a long courageous battle with Cancer.
Born June 28, 1962 at Tacoma Park, MD he was a son of the late James P. Burkhammer and Janice M. Basham Voak of Ladysmith, VA.
David was of the Protestant Faith. He was a graduate of Midland Trail High School in 1981. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also love Nascar. He worked at Holly Acres RV and Truck Accessories for 25 years as the manager. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his step-father: Kenneth H. Voak, Paternal grandparents Glayden and Icie Burkhammer and Maternal grandparents Oris and Hassie Basham.
Besides his mother he is survived by three siblings Richard Eugene Burkhammer, Lisa Kay Bard, and Kenneth Clarence Voak all of Ladysmith, VA. Special friends Dale and Nancy Pettry of Streeter.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Elder David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from noon until time of the service on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Richard Burkhammer, Lisa Bard, Kevin Schmitt, K.C. Voak, Dale and D.J. Pettry.
