Deborah A. Barker-Miller

     Deborah Ann Barker-Miller, 69, of Bluefield entered into eternal rest Friday, February 2, 2024 at Princeton Community Hospital following a short battle with cancer.

      Born December 24, 1954 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Sue Iddings Barker Edmondson.

      Deborah graduated from nursing school in 1986 with a RN degree. She worked at St. Lukes until its closing then continued as a traveling nurse until her retirement. Deborah was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA. She enjoyed going to car shows, cruise ins, fairs and historic homes, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

      Deborah was preceded in death by one infant brother, Joseph Barker; one brother, John Barker; one sister, Mary Iddings and maternal grandmother, Glada Iddings.

      Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bruce Miller; children, Jennifer Compton, Andrea Cartwright, Shayne Miller, Tammy Sexton and Sherri Plott; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a half sister, Kathleen Schmidt.

      Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor Ron Iddings officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Marie. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
