Dennis L. Clayton, 55, of True, formerly of Forest Hill, passed away December 22, 2010 at Bower?s Hospice House following a three month courageous battle with liver cancer.
Born June 9, 1955 in Lillybrook, WV he was the son of the late W.H. ?Sonny? and Willa Wooten Clayton. Dennis was a construction worker from 1973-2009 and a member of the AFL-CIO local #453 in Beckley. The job he enjoyed the most was working with the Brayman Co. at the Bluestone Dam because he could go home to be with his family each day. He was the former owner and operator of the Auction House at the Old Forest Hill School Building and he appreciated the outdoors and wildlife especially feeding the deer everyday at his home. He was a loving husband, father and pawpaw.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Connie Sears Clayton of True; one daughter, Jennifer and companion Robert O?Quinn of Hinton; one son, William ?Scott? of True; his grandson who was his pride and joy, Aedan Blaine of Hinton; four sisters, Teresa, Joyce, Sheila and Anna; one brother, Richard and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated following the visitation.
