Dexter ?Deck? Lee Chandler, 75 of Beckley, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 after a period of declining health.
Deck was born August 29, 1938 to Sarah Josephine Chandler of Beckley and the late Letcher G. Chandler.
He was of the protestant faith. Deck attended Teel School and Woodrow Wilson High School. During his lifetime he resided in West Virginia, New York and California where he worked in the restaurant trade until retirement.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin Gale Chandler and Raymond Keith Chandler.
Besides his loving mother he is survived by two aunts, Daisy Bennett of NC and Blanche Wood of Beckley; one sister in law, Mary Chandler of MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 20, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Rev. F. D. Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Atkins Family Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
