Donald Lee Boone, 70, of Alderson passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at Hopemont Hospital following a long illness.
Born March 12, 1949 at Talcott he was a son of the late Sherman Jasper and Louverna Ballengee Boone.
Donald was an automobile mechanic and former service department manager at Colonial Ford in Lewisburg. He also was a former Auto Mechanics teacher at Greenbrier East High School. Donald was a US Army Veteran who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, farming, carpentry and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jasper Wayne Boone.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Joyce Ann Boone, at home; one daughter, Sherrie Ann Boone of Lewisburg; one son, William Shane Boone of Talcott; three grandchildren, Caleb Shane Boone, Casey Lee Boone and Cara Lynn Boone all of Talcott; one brother, Daniel Boone of Alderson; one sister, Sandra Boone of Lewisburg and family and friends whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Tempa Baptist Church with Pastors Elvis Goodwin Sr. and Kerry Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the Tempa Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. Pallbearers will be Kevin Boone, Harvey Berkley, Wyatt Goodwin, Jesse Jenkins, Elvis Goodwin Sr. and Kerry Boone.
