Donald Cody

On November 1, 2019 Donald Cody of Marie went home to be with the Lord after a short illness, surrounded by his family.

Born September 21, 1929 in Hinton he was the son of the late James Earl and Georgia Jane Bishop Cody.  He was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong resident of Summers County.  Donald was a very simple man who in his younger years loved his horses and hunting.  He loved everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Preceded in death by six brothers, Richard, Sebert, Jimmie, Eddie, Ervin and an infant brother Georgie Cody; his sister, Rachel Allen.

Those left to cherish his memory are his very special great nephew, Scottie Bridges and wife Stephanie whom he made his home with and thought of as a son and a best friend.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Monday November 4, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Jeremy Hughes and Pastor Melvin Wills officiating.  Burial will follow at the New Hope Cemetery at Marie.  Friends may call from 10:30 am until service time on Monday at the funeral parlors.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
