Dorothy Ernestine Crook, 87 of Hinton, died 1:47 P.M. Sunday July 29, 2007 following a long illness. Born April 20, 1920 in Summers Co. she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Florence Meadows Moss. A homemaker and a member of the Church of the Living God, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. Preceded in death by her husband Hobert Jackson Crook on February 12, 1999, one son, John Walter Crook, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers and one sister. Survived by six sons, Ernest Jackson Crook of Peterstown, Paul E. Crook of Hinton, Samuel H. Crook of Jumping Branch, Kenneth L. Crook of Hinton, Roy Crook of Jumping Branch and Dallas Crook of Forest Hill; seven daughters, Ruth Smith of Hinton, Ernestine Bremer of Hinton, Janice Shrader of Peterstown, Brenda Trent of Stark, Florida, Mary Wright of Lake Butler, Florida, Linda Ratliff of Madams Creek and Edith Cook of Ballengee; one brother, James Moss of Columbus, OH; three sisters, Margarete Hanning of Columbus, OH, Ruth Stone of Columbus, OH and Juanita Snow of Williamsburg, VA.; thirty six grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday August 2, 2007 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ron Iddings officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Wednesday at the Funeral Parlors. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
