Dorothy Jean ?Ma Jean? Cales Hall, 85, of Big Creek Road, left this world and entered Heavens gates on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.
She was born January 14, 1926 at Summers County, to Peter Burman Cales and Mary Elizabeth Cox Cales.
Jean knew Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was a lifelong member of Big Creek Baptist Church who enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Ballard Hall; two sisters, Kathleen Hicks and Ruth Burdett; one brother Bob Cales; two half brothers, Bruce and Carl Cales and her half sister, Nita Lane.
Family members who remain are her children, Janet and husband Chester Cochran of Big Creek, Nancy and husband Jimmy Cochran of Big Creek, Jerry and wife Donna Hall of Genoa, OH; grandchildren, Ralph Cochran and wife Patty, Greg Cochran, Lisa (Cochran) and husband Dan Marshall, Kevin Cochran and wife Becca, Lynn (Cochran) and husband Will Reed, Albert Cochran and wife Alicia, Chrissy (Hall) and husband Jason Buschmann, Pamela Hall and Ron Cochran and wife Tina; one brother-in-law, Charles Hall; sisters-in-law, Naydene Hall and Mary Elmore and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Valley View Cemetery on Powleys Creek Rd. with Pastors Dana Stalnaker and Eddie Crews officiating. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 6-9 PM Thursday.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Ralph, Greg, Shea, Greggie and Brandon Cochran and Pam Hall.
